Although we can monitor a vehicles MPG this will not affect driver’s Energy Efficient Driving Index (EEDI) scores. This is due to the fact that MPG can be impacted by a number of different factors such as the weather and the weight of a vehicle etc.
The EEDI score aims to focus drivers to drive vehicles in the most efficient way possible. This does lead to increased MPG more often than not; however, it would not be fair to score drivers based on their vehicle’s MPG due to the other factors that may affect this.
