The ‘Safer Driving Assistant’ (SDA1) provides real-time audible and visual feedback to drivers regarding their driving style (based on customisable parameters).
The small in-cab SDA1 unit alerts drivers when they exceed an Energy Efficient Driving Index (EEDI) parameter, as shown in the below image, and provides drivers with visibility of their target and current weeks EEDI score (this only updates on each ignition on/off to keep distraction to a minimum). The purpose of this is to improve driver behaviour, reduce accident risk and encourage environmentally responsible driving.
NB: The EEDI system is a way of scoring drivers based on their driving behaviour. The EEDI system can be customised to reflect the type of vehicle and nature of the business, with the ability to amend individual vehicle parameters and expectations.
